Burial service, with Military Honors, was held on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella, Calif. for Murlan R. King, 80, of Sanger and formerly of Fresno/Clovis, Calif.

He died Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Community Medical Center, Fresno, Calif.

Murlan R. King was born February 9, 1933 in Fargo to the late Royal R. and Florence M. (Hart) King who farmed in Loam (Harvey Center) Township and owned and operated the UCT Hotel in Langdon. He served in the Merchant Marines (1952 – 1953) and U.S. Marine Corps (August 1953 – August 1956) having served during the Korean War.

He is survived by two sisters Carole Lageman, Pelican Lake, Minn. and Colleen Gendreau, Ashburn, Va.
