Funeral Services were held on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at the Milton Lutheran Church, Milton for Thordur H. Finnson, 79, of Cavalier formerly of Milton.

He died Monday, November 18, 2013, at Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier.

Interment at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Olga.

Thordur was born on August 25, 1934, to Helgi and Kristbjorg (Johnson) Finnson. He grew up in the Milton area where he attended Tongue River country school and graduated from Milton High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957 and after his discharge from service, he returned to the Milton area, where he farmed and worked at Motor Coach Industries from 1985 to 2000. On May 24, 1960, he married Juanita Carrier at Olga. She passed away on May 12, 2000. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and visiting with friends. He was a former member of Fjalla Lutheran Church and at time of death, Milton Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his children: Pam (Russell) Trosen and Randy (Shelly) Finnson, all of Cavalier, Trisha (Steve) Sunderland, Milton; grandchildren: Jarred Trosen (Cahly O’Hara) and Dillon Trosen; Chelsey (Adam) McFadden, Shelby Finnson and Mandy Finnson; Michael (Allison) Sunderland, Cody Sunderland (Jessi Deibert), and Hayden Sunderland; siblings: Sigurjon (Marlene) Finnson, Hamilton, Gladys Cox, Seattle, Wash. and Jon (Kathy) Finnson, Langdon.

Also preceding him in death were his parents; sisters: Gudrun Holm and Doris Papenfuss.
