Interment at Lebanon Cemetery in Langdon.

Betty was born January 7, 1941, in Langdon, to Edgar and Bessie (McKinney) Long. She attended school in Harvey Centre and Hannah. She was united in marriage to Clifford Christianson on August 21, 1958 at the United Lutheran Church of Langdon. They began their married years on a farm near Hampden. About seven years later they moved to Langdon where they would raise their family of six children. She began work at the MSR site in Nekoma in the early 1970s. She eventually transferred to the Cavalier Air Station until her retirement in 2009. Through her years of caring for the Missile Site and Air Station, she had many duties, but she especially loved to paint and spend time with her co-workers. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning. She especially loved sharing her garden goods with her family. She loved to plan and have picnics. She would spend days preparing the food for the picnic, and her chicken was always a highlight. She had a soft spot for her pets and loved to spend time with her grandchildren. When she was a guest at someone’s house, she came with her arms full of food. She especially enjoyed Sundays, when she would enjoy a great meal and then settle in to watch NASCAR. She loved to go to auction sales and spend time with her family. Clifford passed away in 2003, and Betty fought a courageous battle with cancer.

Betty is survived by her children: Wayne (Darlene) of Lankin, Dean (Bonnie) of Langdon, Sonia Malsom of Aberdeen, S.D., Glenn of Lakota, Sylvia (Tom) Klein of Minot, Susan of Langdon; grandchildren: Jason, Aaron, and Michael Christianson, Justin, Bailey, and Kami Kay Christianson, Spencer and Natalie Malsom, Rosellen and Nigel Christianson, Christian Klein, and George Jr. and Jennifer Lepisto; her great-grandchildren; brothers: Gerald (Gloria) Long of Moorhead, Minn. and Marvin (Carol) Long of Sheridan, Wyo.; and sister-in-law Margaret Long of Langdon.
