An Ash Scattering Ceremony took place on Summer Solstice June 21, 2014, at a family cabin near Coconino National Forest in the Prescott, Ariz area; a place he called “a small piece of Heaven” for Charles H. Trautmann, 63, Phoenix Ariz, formerly Medina.

He passed away March 30, 2014, after a year’s battle with cancer.
Charles was born to Reinhold J. and Leona Trautmann of Medina, April 23,1951. He grew up in Medina and attended school there graduating in 1969. He obtained his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from UND in Grand Forks and Masters in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M. He had a successful 34 year career as a Systems Engineer in Flight Management with Honeywell Aerospace, Phoenix, Ariz.
Charles is survived by his wife, Jane (Moilanen) Trautmann; one daughter Kathryn Trautmann (Christine); and one son Robert Trautmann (Mara), all of Phoenix; three sisters, DeLayne Brown (Robert), Bismarck; Genevieve Trautmann, Jamestown; Pamela Halvorson (Daryl), Jamestown; and one brother David Trautmann, Fargo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
