A funeral service was held Monday, September 1, 2014 at the Walhalla-Park Center Presbyterian Church in Walhalla for Verda J. Coyle, 78, of Walhalla.

She died Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.
Verda was born on October 10, 1935 in Langdon to William and Elizabeth (Hope) Witzel. She grew up in Mt. Carmel and graduated from Langdon High School. On April 2, 1956, she married Delmar Coyle in Langdon. After their marriage, she worked for Bell Telephone in Portland, Ore. while Delmar was in the service. After his discharge, they moved to Tioga for a short while before permanently residing in Walhalla. They owned and operated Big A Auto Parts in Walhalla for 30 years. Delmar passed away on April 14, 2010. Things she enjoyed were spending time with family and friends, her adventures with her brother Thomas, and BINGO.
She is survived by daughters: Wendy (Kevin) Waslaski, Langdon and Catherine (Stacy) Lies, Fargo; grandchildren: Gavin Waslaski, Caitlin Waslaski (Michael Evenson), and Logan Waslaski; Max and Trey Lies; siblings: Thomas Witzel, Langdon and Fern Waltz, Portland, Ore.
Also preceeding her in death were her parents; son, Lane Coyle and brother Leo Witzel.
Nelson-Askew Funeral Home of Walhalla was in charge of arrangements.
