Lauretta Watt

A funeral service was held Thursday, October 2, 2014 at the Milton Lutheran Church of Milton for Lauretta M. Watt, age 104 of Milton.

She died Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the Maple Manor Care Center in Langdon.

Interment at Milton Memorial Cemetery.

Lauretta Marie McLaren was born October 11, 1909 in Osnabrock Township of Cavalier County the daughter of the late Robert and Tina (Svalde) McLaren. She grew up and attended rural school there. She was united in marriage to Elmber Watt on November 10, 1928 in Crookston, Minn. The couple lived and farmed near Milton. He passed away on June 22, 1976. She continued to make her home on the family farm until 1990 when she moved into Milton. She lived there until moving to the Good Samaritan Center in Osnabrock in 2007 and in 2012 she moved to the Maple Manor Nursing Home in Langdon. She was a member of the Milton Lutheran Church and WELCA and the Hilltop Senior Citizens.

Lauretta is survived by her children: Leona McLeod, Langdon; Ardelle Throndset, Woodbine, Md; Marlene (Tom) Wolter, Larimore; Carole Johnson, Langdon; Gary (Carole) Watt, East Grand Forks, Minn.; 14 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 29 great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law; Ardis McLaren, Swartz Creek, Mich. and LouElla McLaren, Grand Forks.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two infant sons: Robert and Gene, brothers: Everal, Norman, Lloyd, Walter and David and sisters: Emma, Ida and Irene.
