He was born Oct 20, 1952 in Wolf Point, Mont. to Rev. Frank Henry Ewert and Lillie May Ewert. At the age of 20 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Kathy Lora Schalo on July 21, 1973 in Startup, Wash. They started a family in Sultan, Wash. where he worked as a head sawyer at a local saw mill. In 1997, they moved to Camano Island, Wash. and had a house and shop near the ocean. During this time his art and writing continued to flourish and he was featured in several galleries in the northwest.
