The Red Sox were short a couple of players due to farming and family vacations and lost the game 6-0. Langdon will next play at Park River June 17, then at home June 21 against Nelson County. They hope to have their full roster of players ready to go for both of those games.
Kalton Agnes took the mound for Langdon against Grafton. And while he got into a couple of jams, he for the most part did a nice job of getting out of trouble. Agnes struck out 14 batters in the game.
Two errors against the Red Sox defensively cost them a couple of runs. Five of the six Grafton runs were unearned.
Offensively Langdon had trouble getting around against Grafton ace Jaime Villareal. The stocky righthander allowed just three hits in the game and struck out 16 Red Sox hitters.
Langdon had their best chances to score in the fourth and seventh innings, as Agnes and Kade Pengilly had two out hits in the fourth, and Villareal walked the bases loaded in the seventh. But each time Villareal would end the threat with a strikeout. Jon Skjervheim got the hit for Langdon, while Garek Droog led the way for Grafton with three hits.
