Cost is $99 per person and includes conference fee and lunch. To register, call 1-800-366-8331 ext. 110 or online at www.ndfu.org/wild. A pre-conference party will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 6-8 p.m. at the Quality Inn. Award-winning broadcaster Sarah Gustin of KX News will emcee the event. Gustin is the farm broadcaster and noon show anchor for KX News in Bismarck. She continues to be an active partner in her family’s purebred cattle operation, and serves as the N.D. Gelbvieh Association vice president.
Keynote speaker Reneé Rongen, an award-winning inspirational and humorous speaker, author and business consultant, will share her “Legacy Living” philosophy. The conference will feature a panel of community advocates. Two of the panelists, Codi Austreim and Brandy LaDue, helped establish a non-profit organization in the heart of the oil boom to welcome new residents and families to the Williston area. The group’s outreach has now expanded to include city beautification. Joining Austreim and LaDue on the panel will be Katie Pinke. Pinke is an expert on social media. She has used the tool to change the perspective of farming and the ability of women to tell their story in rural America.
After hearing from panelists, participants will build on the inspiration and motivation of the presenters to create a community project that addresses an important need or issue. In a small group setting, women will develop an execution plan that includes NDFU seed money to move the idea forward. NDFU will give the tools and ongoing support to complete the project.
