Lunch will be served all day and will include a menu of barbecue, hotdogs, potato salad, baked beans, pie and ice cream.
Proceeds from the food court will serve as the last fundraiser of the year for the museum that is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
“This is the last weekend for the season,” said museum president Kathy Muhs. “We close after Labor Day and this will be the finale of the year. It is a good way to get people out for an afternoon.
“We want it to be a fun afternoon for everybody. Not everybody goes to the lake during the Labor Day weekend. It is nice to be able to offer it to everyone and it is a nice way to end the year.”
Muhs said the event has been going on for at least 10 years and hopes the 2013 edition will draw a crowd similar to 2012 when nearly 200 people attended.
In addition to the Flea Market and food, Muhs said there is plenty of free table space still available for vendors to sell their products.
Muhs said the tables will be set up in advance and all the vendors have to do is show up with their items and set up.
A wide variety of items are expected to be for sale.
Even though the crop season has been slow for farmers, Muhs said she is hopeful there will be produce available for sale.
“People love to come out and eat and just browse around,” Muhs said. “But don’t forget about the museum. It is operated by volunteers and it is pretty impressive for a county museum.
“It is a real hands-on museum. People can walk right up to the displays. Kids can get up close and enjoy it. We’re very proud of it.”
