As we come to you this week, June has gotten off to a great start.  All of the Langdon summer baseball and softball programs have gotten underway, and outside of few usual bumps in the road, all have gotten off to a great start. The Langdon Red Sox Post 98 American Legion Baseball team will have it’s first two home games of the year this week.  They will take on Park River June 9 at 6:00pm, then host Cando June 11 at six.  Both games will be at American Legion Field in Langdon.  The Red Sox are also scheduled to play at Minto on June 12.  Work is also underway at the diamond for the State B Legion Tournament, which will be held in Langdon July 30-Aug. 3.  Two more host homes are still needed for teams for the tourney.  If you could help out with that, please contact Holly Lyons at 256-2613.

CCMH golf tournament coming June 14

The Cavalier County Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at the Langdon Country Club June 14.  So far 62 golfers have signed up to play, and their is room for at least five more two person teams.  To get your team signed up, simply call Mary Shankar at the CCMH Foundation office at 256-6139.  The Langdon Eagles Club, Choice Financial and Downs-Clouse Trucking of the main sponsers for the event this year, along with many others that are too numerous to name.  The event begins with a shotgun start June 14 at 11:00am.

Wednesday Night Women’s League Golf to start this week

June 11 is the date for the first Wednesday Night Women’s League golf at the Langdon Country Club.  For the time ever, there will be two shifts of ladies golfers, which will run similar to the Tuesday men’s league.  Shifts will run at 3:30 and 5:30pm, approximately. Jenny Romfo is the organizer of the league once again this year, and tells us so far 10 teams have signed up for the early shift and 13 for the late.  And she also wanted us to stress that it is not too late to sign up a two woman team.  To do that, just get in touch with her or call the clubhouse at 256-5938.  And a reminder that Theresa Valentine will be running the Wednesday nights, and the lovely and talented Kevin “Cocoa” Beauchamp will be running the bar.

“See ya!”  next week!
