And then suddenly it was the middle of June

Hard to believe that as many of you read this it is June 14, Flag Day. Where has the time gone. Seems we are saying that more and more. They say that the older you get the faster the time goes, and that certainly seems to be the case, at least for myself. We just about six weeks away from Langdon hosting the State B American Legion Baseball Tournament, which will run July 30-Aug 3 at American Legion Field. Be watching for this column next week as the need for volunteers will be announced for several different duties at the tourney. Your help will be very much appreciated. The Langdon Red Sox have started their season with a 4-1 record in legion ball. Get out and see them in person at the their next home game June 18 at 6:00pm versus Rolette.
Downs to play in Optimist All-Star Volleyball series
We are a little late with this, but congratulatons to Langdon’s Brenna Downs, as she was selected to play on the East team for the 2014 Optimists All-Star Volleyball Series. The East will play the West in two matches, June 16 in West Fargo and June 17 at Bismarck Century High School. Only the top shelf players from across the state get selected for this event, and hope Brenna plays well.
Langdon School Foundation Tournament coming June 28
As most of you read these word the CCMH Golf Tournament is going on at the Langdon Country Club. That is the start of tournament season on the course, with the next one being June 28 for the Langdon School District Foundation Tournament. This is a four person scramble format tourney, and it fills up very fast, as they had to turn down people last year. So we recommend that you sign up soon, and you can do that by contacting Chalmer Dettler (who is running in his first full marathon in Winnipeg this weekend!) at the Farmers and Merchants State Bank in Langdon at 256-5431.
“See ya!” next week!
