State American Legion Tournament rolling right along

We come to you this week from American Legion Field in Langdon, site of the 2014 State Class B American Legion Baseball Tournament.  As most of you read this, the tourney is now four days old, and the weather has been outstanding.  Thanks again to the many volunteers who have put in countless hours to make this tourney come together and run so very well.  We recognized many people in the front page state story last week, but we neglected one individual, and we would like to correct that here.  Anthony J. “Sal” Salvaggio has also been a major part of getting different parts of diamond ready for state.  Whether it’s helping hang speakers, putting up mesh on the outfield fence (which is not fun), or mowing the grass all summer, Sal has always been there, ready to help if needed.  We all appreciate him a lot.  The State Championship Game of the tournament will be held Aug. 3 at 1:00 p.m.  We hope to see you all there.

Men’s City Golf Tournament happening Aug. 3
Aug. 3 is also the date for the annual Men’s City Golf Tournament at the Langdon Country Club.  All mens members are welcome to come out and play.

Tee off time is 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning.  There will two round of flight play, and then one more round for the championship flight. For more information please contact the clubhouse at 256-5938.  And just a heads up that the Langdon Ladies Golf Tournament will be held Aug. 10, and the best tournament of the year, the Men’s Miller Lite Golf Tournament will be held Aug. 9. A signup sheet can be found in the clubhouse for that tourney of for more information as well
