Anna Schmickle

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, January 2, 2015 at St. Philips Catholic Church for Anna Schmickle, 90, of Bemidji, Minn.

She died Friday, December 26, 2014 at her daughter’s home.

Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Bemidji.

Anna Marie Fischer was born June 27, 1924 in Mt. Carmel to Daniel and Anna (Gapp) Fischer. She grew up in Mt. Carmel and attended St. Alphonsus Catholic School in Langdon. On June 5, 1944 she married Robert Schmickle in Langdon. They lived in Langdon and then moved to Bemidji where she raised her family. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and watching soap operas and Jeopardy and spending time with her family.

She is survived by daughters, Bobbie Mikkelsen of Bemidji, Patricia Schmickle of Bemidji, Mary Schmickle of Bemidji, Ann (Lee) Haugen of Menahga, Jeanne Zimmerman of Bemidji and Peggy Schmickle of Bemidji; sons, Randy Schmickle of Puposky and Ron (Candy) Schmickle of Bemidji; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and special daughter-in-law, Sherry Schmickle of Bemidji.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Anna Fishcher; husband, Robert; son, Roger Schmickle; brothers, Bernard, Leslie, Herbert, Clement and Elmer Fischer and sisters, Patricia Soli and Emmalyn Stoa.
