The Second Annual Beer and Bacon Bash sponsored by the Langdon Area Chamber of Commerce is slated for Friday, January 30. Tickets for the event are $20 and on sale now at Choice Financial, Farmers and Merchants State Bank, and At the Hop Bar and Grill all located in Langdon.

The event, which is 21 and older so bring those ID’s, was the result of Amber Sperling and Lacey Klingbeil, who after the Langdon Wine Walk a few years ago were discussing their enjoyment of tasting new beers.

The current co-chairs for the Beer and Bacon Bash decided that with the success of the Wine Walk maybe a beer walk would be just as successful.

The timing of the event falls just before the superbowl, when many are looking for something new to serve at their parties.

The Bash, which follows the same premise as the Wine Walk, enlists local Chamber businesses, 22 in fact,  to serve some uncommon beers along with tasty recipes that use bacon.

“The beer must be uncommon and different every year” The co-chairs stated.

Some of the beers being served at this year’s bash include Guinness Blonde at Mostad Insurance, Boulder Shake Chocolate Porter at Bottle Barn, and Langdon Floral will be serving Grain Belt Nordeast.

If the beer and bacon recipes aren’t enough to lure people to the event there are also a great assortment of prizes including the grand prize Char-Broil grill complete with propane tank and accessories that will be available to those who complete their “pig pass”. All participants who turn in their completed pig pass will receive a souvenir mug that changes colors depending on the temperature.

Come satisfy those beer and bacon cravings at the Beer and Bacon Bash on  January 30.
