Langdon-Munich Sports Boosters set officers

By Jake Kulland

Let’s begin this week by letting you know that the all new Langdon-Munich Sports Boosters held their second meeting April 14 at the Langdon Eagles Club.  In that meeting they set their slate of officers – Lane Christianson is the President, Shane Henderson Vice President, Bobby Foster the Treasurer and Rachelle Romfo Secretary. The boosters plan to have a membership drive throughout the month of May, and if anyone would like to donate to their cause an account has been set up at the Farmers and Merchants State Bank.  They will offer various levels of membership, and they were still working out what they will be.  They will meet the first Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Langdon Eagles Club.  Again they are all about promoting and supporting all Langdon-Munich school sports whether it be in the spring, summer or fall.  We and many other people throughout Cavalier County think this is a great idea, and for more information on how you can get involved you can call Christianson at 256-3205.  The more people that get involved the better.

Signup night for Langdon Area summer baseball and softball coming April 22

The annual Signup Night for Langdon Area summer baseball and softball programs is set for this coming Wednesday, April 22.  It will be held that evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Langdon American Legion Hall.  This signup is for all levels of baseball – T-Ball, Pee Wee, Little League, Babe Ruth and American Legion along with girls softball.  Parents are asked to please pay the required fees that night, as there will be a late fee charged if they are paid before the season starts.  T-Ball and Pee Wee Baseball will begin June 1 at noon and 5:30 p.m., respectively on Mondays and Wednesdays throughout the summer.  The other levels will have their schedules determined at a later date.  Hopefully everyone will be able to come out that night, but if not forms will also be available at all Langdon and Munich schools.

First Tuesday Night Mens Stag is April 21

The Langdon Country Club will hold their first Tuesday Night Mens Stag of the year April 21.  All mens members are welcome to come out and enjoy a great meal served by Theresa Valentine and her great crew, and this year Sporty’s is running the bar portion of the club.  Dawn Kruk is also back this year to take care of the membership and run the pro shop.  The Fall Meeting of the club will be held April 28 at 6:00 p.m. in the clubhouse.  And the course is now open for golfers to get out and swing away.  For more information on anything dealing with the Langdon Country Club, just call 256-5938. Also signup for mens league golf is ongoing, and to sign up for the early of late shift on Tuesdays just call or text Randy Hill at 370-1118.

Team Scrappy is here

April 25 is the fifth and final Team Scrappy 5k/10k Walk and Run in Langdon.  It is once again a fundraiser for melanoma research, and the organizers all hope this will be their best event yet.  You can get a registration form at D & B Motors, Choice Financial or Mostad Insurance Services. You can also talk to any committee member for more information and they are Tara Field, Sleep Dosmann, Tami Omdahl, Tiffany Heltetved, Jennifer Busse, Tara Mikkelsen or Kathy Snortland.  Let’s hope for great weather for April 25!

Langdon to host track meet April 25

Also the same day as Team Scrappy the Langdon-Munich Cardinals track and field team will host their first tournament of the season.  It will start April 25 at 11:00 a.m., and it’s both a varsity and junior high meet.  If you can help out with the running of the meet, contact Rich Rogers at 256-5291.  Also good to see the beautiful new track in Langdon get utilized.

“See ya!”  next week!
