As we patiently await the start of the 2015 NFL Draft as we write this week, we need to talk up a number of things including Langdon summer baseball and softball signup. If you have not signed up your kids yet, we encourage you to do so ASAP. The Langdon Park Board Baseball Committee is meeting May 6, and they would like to have an idea of how many teams there will be to order shirts and make the teams up and so forth. Signup forms are available at Langdon City Hall, and all Cavalier County schools. Please get your entry forms in soon.
Team Scrappy a huge success in their final act
The fifth and final Team Scrappy walk/run was held in Langdon April 25, and it was another success story. Over 200 runners and walkers participated this year, which organizers think is near a record for the event. Also $12,000 was raised for melanoma cancer research. The board members thank everyone who ran, walked or donated to the cause. They also wanted us to tell you that there are still some Team Scrappy t-shirts and hoodies available for purchase in various sizes. If you would like one, contact Tara Field and she will set you up with how to get one. Congrats to all on a great event for Langdon and our whole area.
Langdon-Munich sports boosters to meet
The Langdon-Munich sports boosters will have their next regular meeting this Monday May 4 at 7 p.m. at the Langdon Eagles Club. They will be discussing their upcoming membership drive, and some ideas for fundraising events. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Many home events this week
We will leave by reminding folks that all Cardinals spring sports teams will have events in Langdon this week. The Langdon-Munich baseball team will host Midway-Minto May 4 and Park River-Fordville-Lankin May 7, the latter being two league games with one a makeup. The Langdon-Munich boys and girls track teams will host a varsity meet May 7, and the Langdon boys golf team will host a meet May 7, with the girls hosting one May 11. Good times for you to come out and check in on all the great action.
“See ya!” next week!
