Evelyn was born April 19, 1929 to Earl and Susan (Cowan) Randall on a farm near Maida. She attended a rural school near Maida then moved to Langdon in 1962. She held various jobs in her lifetime. She started by ironing for the OK Panitorium to cooking at the Embers Steakhouse and Crossroads restaurants. She had a career at Sandum Dept. Store which was later Thoelke’s Dept. Store. Then there was her BAKING- a big love, not only for herself, but for family and friends. If you wanted it, she would make it. The farmers market meant long hours of baking and within a few minutes at the market – it was gone. She was active with the Langdon Senior Center with baking and bingo.
Evelyn is survived by her children: Cheryl (Thomas) Pengilly of Valencia, Pa., Beverly Sandlie of Shakopee, Minn., Toni McDonald of Langdon, and Todd (Lynette) McDonald of Fargo; eight grandchildren: JoDee Pengilly, Shawn (Chelsea) Pengilly, Pam (Steve Page) Sandlie, Nikki (Mike) Lueck, Mike (Sandra) Sandlie, Matt McDonald, Ashley McDonald, and Ian McDonald; fifteen great-grandchildren; and sister Pearl (Noel) Pritchert of Valley City.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Orval (Ole) and William (Bill), and sister Marion Domres.
