Burial services and military honors were held for George H. Dennick, 88, of Poland, Ohio, formally of Concrete on June 25, 2015 at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

He died March 13, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, Ohio.
George was born on April 19, 1926 in Concrete to Joseph John and Mary Fosty Dennick who operated a small farm. He attended school in rural Concrete. He entered the US Army in 1945 and was stationed in Europe during the Occupation until his discharge in 1948. In 1952, he and his mother moved to Long Beach, Calif. where he was employed by GAF Tile and Roofing Corp. until his retirement in 1986. He married Tillie Smiddy in 1962. In 2008, he moved to Ohio to be with his only son. He was a simple man who was an avid recycler and would continually turn trash into treasure. He enjoyed woodworking, yardwork, gardening and was a jack of all trades. He was especially proud of his only grandson who arrived only a year before his death.
George was preceded in death by his parents, two infant siblings, sisters Josephine, Margaret and Elsie and brother Joseph, who was killed in WW II.
He is survived by his son Joseph and wife Melody, Grandson Kash of Poland, Ohio, one brother, Edward (Seattle, Wash.) and one sister Evangeline (John) Hiltner, Yankton, S.D.
Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland, Ohio was in charge of arrangements.
