Litl’ Country Cottage opens doors

A new store will be opening its doors to the public during Music Fest weekend as longtime Langdon businesswoman Cindy Samuelson just can’t stay away from her favorite hobby of interior decorating.

“I stayed home for three months and tried to retire and it just didn’t work,” Samuelson said.

The shop is more of a hobby as Samuelson tries to slow down and retire in a few years. But for right now, Samuelson is looking forward to offering the Langdon area a new and helpful service.

“I need something to do,” Samuelson said.

The Litl’ Country Cottage will be offering custom decorating services where Samuelson’s daughter, Jamie Olson, will come to the home and give an estimate, help in the decorating process, or whatever help the customer may need in making their home beautiful.

“Decorating has always been in my blood. I have to get back into my decorating and had so many people call me still wanting my services,” Cindy said.

Samuelson will have drapes and swatch books for customers to view at her shop and will offer them her expertise in making the customer’s home come together.

With a shabby cottage chic feel, the Litl’ Country Cottage will have a lot to offer customers. The shop will offer a wide line of items for customers such as towels, bedding, rugs, drapes, shower curtains, and knick knacks as well as decorative plants both silk and real.

The Litl’ Country Cottage will have things that no other business in town has. Samuelson has been diligent in insuring her store has a unique style as well as merchandise as she has no intention of competing with other businesses in town.

“I don’t plan on doing anything that anybody else has. I’m in my own little cottage zone,” Samuelson said.

The Litl’ Country Cottage will be open on Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25 from 9 a.m. until sometime after 10 p.m. to celebrate Music Fest. Customers will have the opportunity to get a special stuffed animal found only at the Litl’ Country Cottage.

While Samuelson is considering this her “soft opening”, she encourages customers and the community to come and see her at Christmas time when she has her grand opening.

“Cottage Christmas with a whole bunch of Christmas trees,” Samuelson stated.
