This is different from years past where the event started at the FM Mall.

“It just made sense to start and finish at the Senior Center,” Alex Chaput, who is in charge of the event, said.

Parents can drop off their children at the Langdon Senior Center and “Chamber Elves” will take their child shopping to the stores around town for mom, dad, or anyone on their Christmas list.

“We have had out of towners before. They are shopping for mom, dad, grandma grandpa,” Chaput said.

The age restriction for this event is 2-12 years of age.  Each “elf” will take a group of children  in groups that range in size from three to five kids, but some groups can be bigger.

“Sometimes you get a group of kids who are all friends and want to go together,” Chaput said.

The “elves” are community members who help out but it’s open to anyone who wants to volunteer.

“People can give me a call if they want to volunteer to be an elf or show up the day of,” Chaput said.

The kids will be taken to the following chamber businesses  to find gifts beginning at about 10:30: Langdon Hardware and Rental Store, Choice Financial Bank and Insurance, Langdon Motor Inn, Quality Specialty Products and Printing, Langdon’s General Store, Langdon Community Drug, The Perfect Blend, and Langdon Floral.

The Langdon Senior Center will be hosting a hot dog feed during this time for those little shoppers and their families or for anyone else who has a hankering for a hot dog. The Senior Center will have KNDK station playing for those who have tickets for the Christmas Cash Giveaway.

“We have board games and coloring sheets. Some different crafts will be happening as well,” Chaput said.

Following the festivities and fun of the morning, the Roxy will be playing a free movie for the kids to enjoy at 1:30 p.m. The Roxy will be opening their doors at 1:00 p.m., and the first 50 kids through the doors will receive a free small bag of popcorn courtesy of the LACC. This year the movie is “Beauty and the Beast”.

Be sure to bring your little ones to LACC’s Kids Christmas Shopping Spree.
