The Holiday Break is here

As we come to visit this week, we are on the brink of the Christmas and New Year’s Break for area schools. While school is out for a little less than two weeks, there are still some activities going on over the break for our area sports teams. Both the Langdon-Munich boys and girls basketball teams will compete once again in the Hillsboro Holiday Shootout on Dec. 29-30. The boys will play Park River-Fordville-Lankin and Midway-Minto, while the girls will play Central Cass and Midway-Minto. Also on Dec. 27, Dakota Spirit Arena will host hockey alumni game for both men and women, plus their will be lots of open skating offered over the break. Check out the website dakotaspiritarena.org for more details.
Snow is here, so stay off the Langdon Country Club
Since we last wrote this column, lots of snow has taken over the area. We want to put out another shout out for snowmobilers to please stay away from the Langdon Country Club. As we told you a couple of weeks back, sleds damaged many of the greens last year, some of which never healed all season. So the club board is telling everyone so stay off the course, and they will prosecute anyone they find intentionally doing damage. We all want the Langdon Country Club to look its best and stay as one of the premier nine hole courses in North Dakota.
Here Johnny… in Munich?
We were broadcasting girls hoops in Munich recently, and caught to a wild rumor that actor Johnny Depp may be visiting Munich sometime in January. Crazy you say? Well the story goes that Depp’s wife Amber Heard is a good friend of someone who has recently moved to the Munich community, and that Depp will be filming a movie sometime in Canada sometime in January, and apparently coming down to visit. We had better not say anymore, but there are people in Munich that are positive this is going to happen.
We hope each and every one of our readers has a joyous and safe Christmas this year. Our holiday plans are a little up in the air yet, but may include Grand Forks, Williston and possibly Minneapolis (Skol!). We wish everyone safe travels this Holiday season.
“See ya!” next week!
