A funeral service was held Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at United Lutheran Church in Langdon for Gladys Lorenz, 96, of Langdon.

She died Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Maple Manor Care Center of Langdon.
Gladys Anne Nelson was born December 2, 1919 to Henry and Bertine Nelson at Osnabrock. She graduated from Osnabrock High School in 1938. Following high school, she attended Interstate Business College in Fargo. She worked for the county auditor until the USA entered into World War II. She worked at the War Department in Washington, D.C. during the war. On July 31, 1946, she married Richard Lorenz at St. Alphonsus Church in Langdon. She worked for a number of years at the ASCS office (now Farm Service Agency) in Langdon. They lived on their farm northwest of Langdon. They were the loving parents of three sons. During the winter months, she and Richard lived in Mesa, Ariz. for many years and enjoyed the weather and family who visited often. She loved to golf and sing in the church choir. She was a member of the United Lutheran Church in Langdon.
Gladys is survived by her husband, Richard, of Langdon; sons: Rick (Judy) Lorenz of Denver, Colo., Jim (Sheila) Lorenz of Papillion, Neb., and Tim (Connie) Lorenz of Mililani, HI; grandchildren: Nicole, Marnie, Kyle, Jennifer, Ryan, Sydnie, Danielle and Paul; two great-grandchildren; siblings: Eunice Egan of Whittier, Calif. and Grant Nelson of Langdon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Norris, Harley and John, and sister Thelma.
