Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, April 15, 2016 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon for Betty Laturnus, 77, of Langdon.

She died Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at her home.
Interment at Calvary Cemetery- Langdon.
Betty was born August 5, 1938 in Langdon to Charles and Barbara (Lill) Padden. She grew up in the Loma area and graduated from St. Alphonsus in 1956. She then continued her education at Valley City State Teacher’s College and received her teaching degree. She taught at North Loma for two years then moved to Devils Lake where she worked in the accounting and payroll department at Mercy Hospital. She married George Laturnus in October of 1970, and they farmed near Munich. She was very active on the farm- mowing the yard, hauling grain, and working the fields. In 2000, she moved to Langdon where she currently resided. She loved to garden and do anything outdoors. She enjoyed flowers of many kinds, visiting with her friends and family, and reading was a favorite pastime. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon.
Surviving Betty are her sister, Bonnie (Edward) Laturnus, of Munich; niece Lisa (Mark) Dalquist; nephew Ken (Donna) Laturnus; and aunts: Ethel Lill and Marlene Lill. She is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; uncles: Ed, Art, Ernie, Johnny, and Rob; aunts: Ann, Leona, and Jenny; cousin Leona and many other cousins and relatives.
