A funeral service was held Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Maple Manor Care Center Chapel in Langdon for Doris Woldmoe Simon, 87, of Starkweather.

She died Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Maple Manor Care Center in Langdon.
Interment at Storlie Cemetery, Hampden.
Doris Mae was born May 6, 1929 in Hampden to Henry and Josephine (Freed) Woldmoe. She graduated from Hampden High School in 1947. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Simon on October 28, 1947 in Hampden. They established their home on their farm in rural Starkweather. She loved to sew, garden and do almost any type of craft. She belonged to Faith Lutheran Church in Hampden and also their women’s group and American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a member of the local Homemaker’s and always enjoyed their monthly meetings. Kenneth passed away in 2001, but she continued to live on the farm until 2010 when she moved to Wheatland Estates and Maple Manor Care Center, both located in Langdon.
Surviving Doris are her children: Karen (Palmer) Brekhus of Tolley, Bruce (Linda) Simon of Starkweather, Kathy Cromwell of Biloxi, Miss., and Linda (Larry) Geisen of Langdon; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Kenneth, her parents, brother William Woldmoe, and sisters Marie Paukner and Alice Woldmoe.
