Four members of the Munich FFA along with chapter Advisor Rick Vannett were present to receive the charter from the ND State FFA Officers.  Members who were present included chapter President – Traci lagein, Chapter Vice President Jill Lagein, Chapter Reporter Ben Lagein and Denver Biby.  Munich now joins the other 83 ND HS FFA Programs and its members will be allowed to compete and participate in all the FFA activities.

The members took part in the State Convention by participating in a variety of events.  Ben Lagein and Denver Biby were members of the State FFA Courtesy Corps.  The courtesy corps responsibility is to do all the behind the scenes work to make sure the convention runs smoothly.  Being part of the courtesy corps means long hours and a lot of work.  The members are recognized on stage for their accomplishments.   The state selects 3 from the list of 48 members to receive a free trip to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis this fall to represent ND in the National FFA Courtesy Corps.  This year Ben Lagein earned a gold award and was one of the three selected because of his exceptional work ethic and responsibility.  Ben is the first FFA member from Munich to ever win a free trip to participate in the National FFA Convention.  Denver Biby also participated in the Courtesy Corps and earned a bronze award.

Jill Lagein participated in the Job Interview contest along with the Dairy handlers contest.  Jill received a bronze award in each contest.  Traci Lagein participated in the talent contest and the Extemp public speaking contest.  In the talent contest Traci played her guitar and sang where she earned a gold award.  In the public speaking contest Traci earned a silver award.

Traci and Jill served as the Official Delegates for the Munich FFA Chapter and Ben Lagein and Denver Biby served as the alternate delegates.  The responsibility of the delegates is to conduct the official business of the ND FFA and elect the new officer team for the ND FFA.
