She was born January 9, 1928, and grew up with three siblings on her family’s farm near Northwood. She married John Mark in 1949; they soon established a home and began to raise their family in Langdon. Enticed by a milder climate and new adventures, the Mark family relocated to the Seattle area in 1967. She was employed by Northwest Airlines until her retirement in the early 90s. Since then, she divided her time between her beloved Seattle and her winter get away in Mesa, Ariz. She was an avid bowler and golfer and collected numerous awards and trophies over the years. She also enjoyed keeping up with the news and political events. She liked to entertain and was forever collecting recipes. Always friendly and curious while out and about, she often engaged complete strangers in conversations. She enjoyed a life full of friends and extended family and appreciated her many travel opportunities. But above all, was her love of family, especially her two grandchildren, who were always at the top of her mind. She was a proud daughter of Norwegian immigrants and spoke often of life on the farm and the love she had for her parents. She honored them by living and loving a life of integrity, honesty and respect for self and others. She was spiritually ready to leave this world and is now living a life of everlasting peace with the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Mark, and son, John Mark, III. She lives on through her sons, Jeffrey and Brad, daughter-in-law, Dawn, and grandchildren, Taylor and Hailey.
