A celebration of life was held April 15, 2017 at Orting Eagles in Orting, Wash. for Leo Washebek, 81, of Puyallup, Wash., who passed away March 15, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, Wash.
Military services were held on March 31, 2017 at Tahoma National Cemetary.
Leo was born on December 24, 1924 in Cavalier County to Richard and Adella Washebek. He attended St. Alphonsus School graduating in 1955. He then enlisted in the US Army, and served his country for two years. He came back to Cavalier County and went to work for the Cavalier County Republican newspaper. During this time he met the love of his life, Anna Konze. They met at a Halloween party in 1957. In 1959 he left North Dakota and moved to Seattle and went to work for Waller Printing. During this time Anna moved to Seattle and they were married October 24, 1959. He spent 40 years in the printing industry and retired in 1999 from Sunset Press. He was an umpire for Little League Baseball and loved to play golf.
Leo is survived by his wife Anna, his two daughters LeAnn (Mike) Jenkins, and Lisa (Tom) Barrett; four grandchildren, Brandi (Adam) Fisher, Allen Klein, Amanda (Jeff) Marquette, Tommy (Britney) Barrett; and five great grandchildren, Enzo, Amiyah, Thomas (aka Bubba), Gage and Milo. Also survived by his two sisters Irene Etterman of Red Lake Falls, Minn. and Lillian Domres of Towner.
