A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon for Corey Slama, 40, of Grand Forks and formerly of Langdon, who passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017, in Grand Forks.

Burial will be at St. Clotilde’s Cemetery in Milton.

Corey Wayne was born January 12, 1977, in Langdon to Wayne and Gayle (Watt) Slama. He attended St. Alphonsus School in Langdon and graduated from Langdon High School in 1995. After graduation, he worked various jobs including: Gracie’s Restaurant in Langdon, Viking Pork near Edmore, Schwan Wholesale in Devils Lake, Grand Forks Truss, and was currently cooking at Grandma Butterwicks in Grand Forks. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and boating with his family and friends. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and pro basketball.

Corey is survived by his parents, Wayne and Gayle, of Langdon; brothers Jeremy (Heidi) Slama of Mekinock and Shawn (Dawn) Slama of Cando; grandfather Ronald Watt of Park River; nieces: Emily, Skyler, and Trysta; and nephews Blake and Terrick.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Stan and Chelda Slama and Elda Watt.
