A funeral service will be Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Adams Mountain Lutheran Church, Adams, for Morris James Vigen, age 67 of Adams, who passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Interment will be at West Adams Lutheran Cemetery, Rural Adams.
Morris James Vigen was born March 19, 1950 in Grafton, the son of the late Albert and Mildred (Capouch) Vigen. He grew up and attended elementary and high school in Adams, graduating from Adams Public School. He graduated from Lake Region Junior College in Devils Lake. Following his education he returned home and farmed with his father and brother. He later started farming on his own and expanded to be a licensed and bonded Livestock dealer and owned and operated a feedlot. He later expanded the business to include machinery and equipment sales, both domestic and internationally. He was united in marriage to Leanne Nyhus on October 16, 1971 in Devils Lake. The couple made their home on the Vigen family farm near Adams. He was a member of the Adams Mountain Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Leanne, Adams; his daughters: Jennifer (Marty) Iverson, Hillsboro; Kyra (Perry) Erovick, Park River; and Angela (Jake) Borden, Adams, nine grandchildren: Zachary, MacKenzie, Carter and Alexis Iverson, Jacob, Jordan and Jameson Erovick and Chase and Jaxon Borden, his siblings: Maureen Setness and Gary (Joleen) Vigen, both of Adams. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law Les Nyhus, niece Renae Hegg and nephew Jan Vigen.
