Nowatzki is a native of Semora, N.C. She currently lives in Langdon with her husband, Jerry Nowatzki, the youngest son of Ole and Margie Nowatzki of Langdon, and her mother, Ruby Whitt, formerly of Semora, N.C. All three moved from Temecula, Calif. to Langdon in March of 2017. She also has a 25-year-old daughter, Hilary, who lives in Kingsport, Tenn. Nowatzki said, “We also have four fur-babies, two dogs and two cats.”

Nowatzki graduated from Bartlett Yancey High School in Yanceyville, N.C. in 1985. She received an AAS in Respiratory Therapy in 2004 from Pima Medical Institute. She graduated in 2014 with a BA from St. Leo University in Fla. and is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in English from Southern New Hampshire University.

Nowatzki is a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and the United States Navy. Her husband, Jerry, is a 22-year retired veteran of the United States Submarine Force. Besides serving in the military, Nowatzki has worked as a deputy sheriff and a detective in her native North Carolina. Before moving to Langdon, she worked as a respiratory therapist in Temecula, Calif. for 10 years.  Nowatzki stated, “I’ve been blessed. No matter where I have lived, I have been able to find a job that I love. Langdon is not an exception.”

Nowatzki also noted that even though she grew up in a small town, the sense of community and sincere kindness has taken me aback. Everyone in Langdon genuinely cares about each other.

Help us welcome Lisa to her new position!
