Wyatt brings a much needed service to Langdon and the surrounding area.

Wyatt is certified to provide services for patients that require strengthening and fall prevention in the home. She also helps with improving patients’ independence with dressing, bathing, toileting, self-feeding, cooking, cleaning, and laundry.  She is also fully trained to do home safety evaluations and recommend the appropriate durable medical equipment for a patient’s home.

Wyatt’s company, ARC, recently became Blue Cross Blue Shield and Medicare Part B certified. She can see patients in their homes as an outpatient service rather than having patients travel to a brick-and-mortar business location. The home care she offers is a much-needed service for the Langdon area.

“The benefits of in-home care,” Wyatt said, “saves them the inconvenience of traveling and wait times. I can provide services independently for patients even if they don’t require nursing or physical therapy services.” Wyatt stresses that she has taken the approach that health care is best delivered where people spend the majority of their time. Her passion is for patients to continue to live the fullest life they envision by providing recommendations to make their daily lives easier and safer in the place they call home.

Wyatt stated that she and her husband moved to Langdon to have the family time we were missing very much. “I decided to be at home more with my two boys. This allowed me to continue to work as an occupational therapist when needed,” she shared.

Wyatt stated, “Currently, ARC is contracted to work with Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake providing occupational therapy services, as-needed, for swing bed patients.” Swing bed patients are defined by Medicare as hospital rooms that can be used for acute care or as a skilled nursing room. Wyatt now is ready to offer her in-home services in Langdon.

Wyatt, her husband, and two boys have lived in Langdon for the past 18 months. She was born in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, home of the first known settlement west of the Mississippi River. She is the oldest of four children with a very large extended family. Wyatt attended Valle Catholic grade school through ninth grade before transitioning to the public school. She attended Saint Louis University for her Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Science and earned her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 2012.

Wyatt found her calling during college. She said, “During college, I worked for many families that had children with autism by providing respite services for those families. After completing my fieldwork in Home Health and Acute Rehabilitation, I found my passion while working with the geriatric population.”  Wyatt first entered the health care field when she began working in a skilled nursing facility for two years in Fredericksburg, Va.  She also accepted patients for several home health companies. This experience helped cement Wyatt’s love for her job in a new way. She branched out and set up her own business that included working for multiple home health companies as an independent contractor in the Washington, D.C. area.

During the last five years, Wyatt has provided care for seniors. At this time she does not provide OT for children or youths. However, Wyatt is open to training to obtain the necessary credentials to provide her services for children if there is a need in the community.

To be seen as a patient by ARC and Wyatt, a patient must have Blue Cross Blue Shield or Medicare Part B insurance; a prescription from a physician/medical provider ordering OT service; and the patient must reside within a 45 mile radius of the Langdon area.
