It’s Homecoming week for the Cardinals

As we begin this week’s run, it’s Homecoming week for Langdon-Edmore-Munich sports teams. There will be things going on this week at all three schools, but there will also be three big activities happening. The Cardinals Cross Country team will host their only home meet of the season on Sept. 18. It will start for both the boys and girls at 4:00 p.m. at the Langdon Country Club. If you haven’t seen either team run, they both have been doing well, led by Elise Ramberg, who is ranked first in the state once again this week in the Girls Individual Poll. The Girls Volleyball team will have a homecoming match on Sept. 21 versus Dunseith, then the Cardinals football team will have their 2017 Homecoming game against Bottineau on Sept. 22. After having three of their first four games on the road, the Cards gridiron squad will have three of their last four at home, beginning with the game against the Braves. And by the way, the Homecoming Parade is at 2:00 p.m. the day of the football game on Sept. 22. For more information on that, please contact Langdon High School at 701-256-5291. We hope everyone has a great week for Homecoming, and we also hope you will get out and support these many events and activities.
Grade School Football team to play at the Fargodome
The Langdon-Edmore-Munich fifth and sixth grade football team will be having quite an experience when they get the opportunity to play at the Fargodome on Sept. 17. It’s all part of a huge grade school jamboree that is going on that day. The younger Cardinals will play Valley City at 1:00 p.m., and how cool will that be for the players (And probably the coaches too) to get out on the Fargodome turf and play a game on the same field at the NDSU Bison. Coach Tyler Feist and the team have already gotten off to a great start to their season, and we hope they continue to shine in Fargo.
Last weekend for Mount Carmel Dam
Hard to believe, but we are at the point for the last weekend for the Mount Carmel Dam Recreation Area for the season. The last day is Sept. 17, and campers will be winterizing things all weekend long. This is also a true sign that summer is leaving us, which is a little depressing. We hope everyone enjoyed camping season at Mount Carmel. It’s awesome to have such a beautiful facility to be used for our whole area.
“See ya!” next week!
