After a tough win over PRFL the night before, the Lady Cards cruised in this one, winning in a sweep by set scores of 25-8, 25-14 and 25-9.  The Cardinals stayed unbeaten in Region 4 with the win at 8-0, and are now an impressive 33-3 overall.  They will play at Rolette-Wolford on Oct. 24, host Lakota on Oct. 26, then finish out their regular season on Senior Night in Langdon versus North Star on Oct. 30.

In their win over the Rockets, Langdon-Edmore-Munich was playing well all night, led by the hitting of Callie Ronningen, who was playing in her home gym in Edmore, and very solid defense.  The Lady Cards had four different players with 10 digs or more.  Madi Pritchard led the way with 12, followed Jordyn Worley, Arynn Crockett and Rachel Hill with 11 each.  Kellie Hetler also had 10 digs for the Cardinals.

Worley kept revving up her serving throughout the match, and after notching her tenth service ace in the third set, did something very rare and that’s score a triple-double.  She finished with 12 kills, 11 digs and 10 aces.  She is the first Cardinal to do that since Katie Lorenz Johnson back in the 2000-2001 season (We will have more on that in the Jake’s Take on Sports column this week).  Ronningen led the team with 14 kills, and Hill had a team high 29 assists.
