It is the time of the year when the warmest of quilts can take away the coldest of chills.

Open for nearly one year, Sew On & Sew North on Third Street in Langdon has all the materials a quilter may need.

From patterns to fabric to thread, batting and backing, look no further.

“We have expanded greatly,” said owner Peggy Davis. “When people came in at the beginning, there is probably triple the amount of merchandise we had at the beginning.

“A lot of people are starting to find us from all over the area. When there wasn’t a quilt shop in town, people kind of gave up on it.

“Now, they are starting to come back because it is so convenient and you don’t have to drive to Devil’s Lake.”

Sew On specializes in helping customers develop kits or helping hand-pick the items needed for a quilt project.

“A lot of customers like kits because they don’t have to go to the effort of choosing everything to make a particular project,” Davis explained. “We are pretty good at picking colors.”

In addition to materials, the store offers gift certificates, classes and quilt sewing services.

“It has been a really fun time getting to know each and every one of our customers,” Davis said. “Learning their projects and their creativity has been great. Come in and let us help you.”
