Quite a few of Cavalier County’s citizens will be at the Roxy Theater in Langdon watching a performance of Oh, What Fun! A Christmas Celebration.

The show features many talented musicians from around the Langdon area. Christmas carols like: It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas, Holly Jolly Christmas, Winter Wonderland, White Christmas, Baby It’s Cold Outside, Joy to the World, and many more will fill the air with Christmas cheer.

A variety of musicians including saxophone players and even a few kazoos will play some of your favorite yuletide tunes. According to show producer, Emily Braunberger, “This is the perfect way to kick off your holiday season!”

Braunberger said that she got the idea for a Christmas styled review from the holiday show she and accompanist Lisa Schuler performed at  in Devils Lake last Christmas. She also said that this year’s holiday show stems from the musical revues that she has directed the past two years. Those previous musical revues had a central theme and then a variety of songs that fit into that theme. “This year, I decided to do something a little different for the community of Langdon to put on.” Braunberger commented.

According to Braunberger, “I put the show together from scratch to create something fun and entertaining. In the previous musical revues I directed and choreographed every single song, but our performers have been working on solo and duet numbers on their own time this year.”

The show is sponsored by the Northern Lights Arts Council and is made possible by many wonderful local citizens. Braunberger wanted to acknowledge her supporters and program help. Our accompanist is Lisa Schuler and our percussionist is Eyan Mehlhoff. Hilari Pletcher is directing the two kid’s songs and she has done a wonderful job!

There is a huge variety of performers in the show, including: Bryan Hanson, Dan Lamping, Jason Petersen, Jordan Braunberger, Hilari Pletcher, Darby Hart, Steve Hart, Kim Hart, Curt Kram, Dan Hart, Noelle Pletcher and Malori Pletcher.

Brenna Schuler and a group of kids from the elementary, middle and high school: Paige Peterson, Claire Chaput, Cora Badding, Drew Peterson, Jaya Moen, Autumn Howatt, Dustin Gilseth, Kaydee Koistinen, Clarice Brinegar, Hailey Thorlakson, Hope Thorlakson, Hannah Thorlakson, and Breana Wagner will also join in.

If you want to come to either performance, tickets are only available at the door. There are no pre-sale tickets available. Prices are: Adults ($12), Students grades K-12 ($8), and Kids 5 & under ($5). The Roxy Doors will open promptly at 1:15 p.m. each day.
