Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at the St. Brigid of Ireland Catholic Church of Cavalier, for Garnet M. Storey, 62, of Grand Forks and formerly of Cavalier, who passed away November 20, 2018, surrounded by his loved family at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.
Garnet Murray Storey was born October 16, 1956, in Cavalier to Hilliard and Cecelia (Campeau) Storey. He graduated from Valley High School in Hoople in 1975. After graduation, he worked for area farmers and, in 1996, started working for the Cavalier Public School as a head custodian and transportation supervisor. In 2009, he and his family moved to Grand Forks where he worked for KBS and then started his own cleaning service until his death. He enjoyed music, golf, and keeping his vehicles in pristine shape. He also enjoyed getting together with his family especially at Christmas. He was an excellent cook, and his cooking was enjoyed by many. On November 9, 1988, he married Linda Jerome at Cavalier.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Linda; sons Jeremy (Miriah Dudgeon) and Evan (Sarah); daughter Klarissa; two grandchildren; siblings: Carol (Ken) Ault of Cavalier and Marilyn (Kevin) Shephard of Langdon; brother-in-law Jack Carignan of Cavalier; nieces: Julie (Kirk) Morrison of Neche, Katherine (Josh) Briese of Hamilton, Megan Shephard (Joe Schneider) of Langdon; nephews: Jamie Ault, Kevin (Laura) Ault, all of Cavalier, Ryan (Erin) Ault of Post Falls, ID, Jason (Stacey) Brown of Park River, and Michael Shephard of Maple Grove, Minn., and several great-nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, grandparents, and sister Theresa Carignan.
