Funeral services were held Monday, December 17, 2018, at the United Methodist Church in Rock Lake for June Marie Murdock, 88, of Rock Lake, who passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Rosewood on Broadway in Fargo. Burial was at the Rock Lake Community Cemetery in Rock Lake.
June was born June 9, 1930, to Walter and Katherine (Maloney) Winchell in Rolla. She was raised and attended school in Rock Lake. She was united in marriage to George Victor Murdock on April 30, 1949, in Cando. Se was an Avon representative for 50 years and loved visiting with every single one of her customers. She helped on the farm raising chickens, geese, ducks and selling eggs. She always had a huge garden and did a lot of canning. She tried to give away as much as she could. She loved her family and dog Suzie. She served on the election board and always reminded her grandchildren to vote and was a part of the VFW Auxiliary for several years. She loved to watch wildlife (pheasants, deer, birds, etc.) and loved watching crops right up to this last harvest. The couple farmed until 1984, and she continued to live on the farm until January 2018.
June is survived by her daughter, Laura (Bill) Rensvold, of Fargo; son-in-law Dave McConnell of Rock Lake; grandchildren: Christopher McConnell, Karen McConnell, Kait Stelljes, Kerri (Kur) Kur, Kim Rensvold and Kevin Rensvold; and great-grandchildren: Ashton Stelljes, Channing Stelljes, Cymone Blue, Deng Oboya, Menha Oboya, Nai Kur, Avery Kur, Achol Kur, Tarin Rensvold, Dut Deng and Lillian Schutz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George, daughter Glenda and sisters Ruth and Betty.
