Kathy was born July 25, 1952, in Langdon to Joseph J. and Ella (Olson) Kram. She attended school in Langdon, graduating in 1970. She continued her education at the University of North Dakota where she earned her bachelor’s degree in education. She also received her certification in library science from Mayville State University. She taught at St. Alphonsus School in Langdon, Holy Family School in Grand Forks, Wahpeton, and Minto. She had wanted to be a teacher from a very early age and developed a real passion for teaching, always going above and beyond what was required. In 2016, she retired after 41 years of teaching and returned to Langdon where she currently resided. She loved books and reading, often being asked by family for recommendations on what or who to read next. Some of her favorite authors included John Grisham, Jodi Picoult, and Mitch Albom. She also enjoyed musical theater and plays. She had a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephew and loved visiting and joking with them. She was a very caring, generous person who will be dearly missed by her friends and family.

Surviving Kathy are her brother, James, of Langdon; sister-in-law Helen Kram of Fargo; nephew Jeff (Carrie) Kram of St. Anthony Village, Minn.; nieces: Karen Strom of Lecanto, Fla., Katie (Justin) Dummer of Alexandria, Minn., and Sara (Joe) Miller of Waller, Texas, along with several great-nieces and a great-nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Jerry Kram.
