A memorial service was held in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, TX, on January 17, 2019, for Sharon Yvonne Drew, 75, of Lake Dallas, TX, who passed away on January 10, 2019, in Denton.
Sharon was born on June 3, 1943, in Langdon to John and Isabel Spenst. She was a graduate of Alsen High School. She also attended two years at the University of North Dakota (UND) in Grand Forks where she met her husband to be, who was serving in the Air Force. She married Robert A. Drew on August 24, 1963 in Grand Forks. They lived in Worcester, Mass. and then Warren, Mass. While living in Warren, Sharon participated in Cub Scouting, Girl Scouting, and the National Bicentennial. In 1981, they then relocated to Lake Dallas, TX, where they currently reside. After she retired from Bank of America, she enjoyed spending the summers in Alsen with her husband and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Robert A. Drew, of Lake Dallas, daughter Robin A. Young and husband Timothy of Aubrey, TX, son Robert A. Drew II and wife Yolanda of Lufkin, TX, brothers: Ronald Spenst of Minneapolis, Minn., Donald “Skip” Spenst of Langdon, Jack Loewen of Apple Valley, Minn., and four grandchildren: Kathleen Barnett, Ashley Hart, Robert A. Drew III, and Madison Drew. In addition, she has many nephews, nieces and cousins who will miss her.
She is preceded in death by father John Spenst, step-father Cornelius Loewen and mother Isabel Loewen.
