Douglas A. Doescher of Auburn, Wash., formerly of Alsen, ND, passed way February 7, 2019, at his home due to complications from diabetes. No services were held, and he was buried at Hillcrest Burial Park in Kent, Wash.
Doug was born Sept 27, 1940, at the Tyko Lundquist home in Langdon to George and Alice Doescher. He grew up and attended school in the Alsen/Loma area except for a few years when his family lived in Illinois. He worked for several farmers in the Alsen area, and in 1960 he enlisted in the USMC and served for four years. In August of 1965 he began working for Boeing Security and worked on the Minuteman Missile Program in ND, SD, Montana and Wyoming. He transferred to Seattle in 1978 and retired in 2006 after 40 and 1/2 years with Boeing. He and Virginia Michels of Clyde were married June 18, 1966, in Langdon.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia along with sons Grant and Brandon of Auburn. Also surviving are his brothers, Jim and Bob Doescher of Langdon, Steve Doescher of Canton, Ohio, and sister Linda (Pinky) Padden of Hawley, Minn., a niece and several nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, in-laws Roman and Muriel Michels and grandparents Jim and Ida Lundquist.
