The Blades played two games in the tourney, losing in double overtime to Fargo 5-4 in the opening round on February 28 then winning the fifth place game in the seven team league over Crosby 11-1. The Blades finished the season with a record of 9-9-2. Three seniors played in their last junior gold game- Alex Gronhovd, Travis Johnson and Kellen Roder. Gronhovd, Danny Muhs, Peyton Ullyott and Sid Ullyott made the All-State Team, while Head Coach Nic Roy was named Coach of the Year. Richland beat Fargo 6-3 to win their first junior gold title in 16 years.

In their first game of the tournament versus Fargo, it would be one rough contest. 21 penalties would be called in the game, including eight in the second period alone.

Peyton Ullyott scored the first goal of the game on an assist by Sid Ullyott, and Langdon led 1-0 after the first period. Fargo would then put in four unanswered goals in the second period, two of them on power plays, to take a three goal lead. But the Blades would get one of those back after the first of two major penalties call against Fargo, with Peyton Ullyott scoring again on an assist from Sid. The second major produced another Blades goal with Hunter Feil finding the net assisted by Sid Ullyott and Travis Johnson.

The Blades would tie the game on another power play goal, scored by Cooper Zimmer and assisted by Peyton and Sid Ullyott. That would be the last time either team would score until midway through the second overtime when Fargo finally got the winning goal past Gronhovd, who had a super human type day in the net coming up with a phenomenal 71 saves in the game. Fargo outshot Langdon 76-44 for the game.

Langdon had a day off after getting a bye in the consolation round, and they played Crosby in the fifth place game. The rested Blades skated away with this one, scoring the first five goals of the game- one by Zach Rostvet and the other four by Peyton Ullyott, who would score five in the game to give him a team leading 38 for the season.

Feil add two more goals in the third period, and the Blades got late scores from Sid Ullyott, Johnson and Roder to cap off a big final game of the year. Assist leaders were two each from Peyton and Sid Ullyott plus one each from Feil, Johnson, Zimmer, Andy Muhs and Michael Kartes.

Gronhovd did not have nearly as much work in this one, stopping 27 of 28 Comet shots.
