A funeral service was held on Friday, April 12, 2019, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Bloomington, Minn. for Gregory James Heck, 69, who passed away peacefully on April 4, 2019, at his home in Bloomington, Minn. after a long battle with leukemia.
Greg was born in Langdon on June 3, 1949, to the late Robert and Lucille Heck. He graduated as the valedictorian from Nekoma High School in 1967 and from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 1973. He worked as a tax attorney for the Minnesota Department of Revenue for more than 30 years. He was a devoted father who enjoyed coaching his children in numerous sports. After retirement, he volunteered at Bridging, VEAP and St. Stephen Lutheran Church. He also came to enjoy traveling, especially European river cruises. He will be deeply missed by friends, family and all who knew him.
Greg is survived by his wife, Barbara Heck (nee Ingwersen); children, Kristin Elizabeth Heck and Matthew Brian Heck; daughter-in-law Leah Heck; and granddaughter Lela Katharina Heck. He is also survived by his five siblings, their spouses, and numerous nieces and nephews.
