John E. Delvo

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon for John E. Delvo, 79, of Langdon, who passed away Friday, May 3, 2019, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Langdon.

John was born February 12, 1940, in Langdon to John and Catherine (Moos) Delvo. He grew up and attended school in Perry Township. On October 9, 1961, he and Shirley Tetrault were married at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon. John took over the family farm south of Langdon with his brother, Jerome, after their father passed away. He also worked winters at Sand Iron and Steel. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, and going to the casino where he and Shirley saw many concerts. He enjoyed talking and reminiscing on the phone to his family and friends. He took great pride is his children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments and attended many sporting events, concerts, and recitals of theirs. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.

Surviving John are his wife, Shirley, of Langdon; children: Jody (Wade) Klindt of Langdon, Scott (Mary) Delvo of Buxton and Jacklyn (Jeff) Kram of Langdon; grandchildren: Janae (Nick) Heuchert, Justina Klindt, Jadyn Klindt, Raelyn Klindt, Rachelle Klindt, Jordan Klindt, Aaron Delvo, Adam Delvo, Ashley (Tanner) Lerom, Adrianna Delvo, Kylie Kram, and Ryan Kram; great-grandchildren: Easton, Alexis, Maxxton, Blakely, and Hudson; sisters Betty (Leonard) Kathman and Katherine (Michael) Kraft; sisters-in-law: Beatrice Delvo, Janis (Frank) Delvo-Papscun, and Elaine Dunnigan; brothers-in-law: Wally Tetrault, Lorne (Judy) Tetrault and Ray Peloquin; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Jon; brothers: Jerome, Joseph and infant Michael; mother and father-in-law Amie and Alma Tetrault; brothers-in-law: Lyle Keegan, Gordon Stavang, and Jack Dunnigan; sisters-in-law Della Peloquin and Karen Tetrault; and many cousins.
