Hard to believe that this the last week of the school year, but it has come fast and with it comes the final tournaments and meets of the year.  The Region 4 High School Baseball Tournament begins in Park River and Langdon on May 20.  Langdon-Edmore-Munich ended up getting the third seed in the tourney, and they will play sixth seeded Pembina County North in Grafton at 3:00 p.m. on May 20 in the opening round.  The first round is split between two sites for the first day of tournament only, then everything will be in Park River from there.  The winner of the tourney will advance to the State Class B High School Baseball Tournament in Fargo which will run May 30-June 1 at Newman Outdoor Field.  The Cardinals have gone through some adversity with injuries this season, but hopefully they can put it all together to make a run at the state tourney.

State Track Meet in Bismarck May 24-25

Memorial Day Weekend usually mean the unofficial start of summer, but it also means that the State Track Meet will happen, which it will at the Community Bowl in Bismarck May 24-25.  The Cardinals have qualified two more girls for the state meet with seventh grader Cora Badding making it in the triple jump, and Kate Sillers as part of the 3200 meter relay.  The Cardinals had hoped to qualify several more athletes as at the Northeast Region Track Meet which was held in Larimore on May 17.  Best of luck to everyone in the track postseason.

Cardinals boys golfers qualify for state meet; Tuesday Men’s League Golf begins May 21

The Langdon-Edmore-Munich boys golf team took second place at the Region 3 Golf Meet at Kings Walk Golf Course on May 16.  Sid Ullyott took second place overall, losing to Dalton Albrecht from Grafton in a three hole playoff after they were tied and the end of the round.  The whole team will now compete in the 2019 State Class B Boys Golf Meet May 28-29 at the Jamestown Country Club.  The Lady Cards girls golf team was trying to defend their Region 3 title at the time of this writing in Devils Lake they will most likely be playing in the State B Girls Golf Meet in Carrington the same dates as the boys.  Also a golf reminder that Tuesday Men’s League Golf begins May 21 at the Langdon Country Club with shifts running at 3:30 and 6:00 p.m.

Warwick Workouts basketball camp coming to Langdon in June

A fantastic basketball camp call the Warwick Workouts will be coming to Langdon June 12-14 at the Langdon High School gym.  The camp will be run by great crew coming all the up from Sioux Falls, SD.  There are three divisions for both boys and girls — Grades K-2, 3-6 and 7-12.  This is perfect way to get your child great instruction for the game of basketball, and also enhance their skills to take them to the next level.  If you want more information contact Rob Scheer at the Langdon High School or check out their website at
