It’s getting to be Tournament Time for summer baseball
By Jake Kulland
We have now just about hit Mid-July, and that means it’s time to get rolling with summer baseball tournaments. Several tourneys for the younger kids have already happened, but the big ones are on the horizon. The Northern League Babe Ruth Baseball Tournament will be held in Langdon at American Legion Field July 18-21. Six teams will be involved with the winner advancing to the State B Babe Ruth Tournament in Watford City July 26-30. Meanwhile the Northern League 10U Tournament will go on July 20 in Cavalier, and the District 5 American Legion Baseball Tournament (It’s now Districts in Legion Baseball, not Regions) happens July 23-27 in Hatton. We wish all of our area teams the best of luck in their respective tourneys, and we will update you on how they do in the weeks ahead.
A busy week ahead at the Langdon Country Club
The good times continue this week at the Langdon Country Club. There are three tournaments schedule in the week ahead. The annual Ladies Invitational is on July 15 with a 12 Noon tee off time. The Northern Canola Growers Tournament is on July 18 teeing off at 1:30 p.m., and the Men’s Miller Lite Tournament, normally held in August, has been moved up to Musicfest Saturday, on July 20 with a 10:00 a.m. tee off. Also a reminder that the area Men’s Senior Golf Tour is having their yearly stop at the club on July 22, and a start of 10:00 a.m. I know I sound like a broken record saying this, but the course is in the best shape it’s been in in years, so get out and enjoy these fun tourneys that lie ahead.
Musicfest week is here
We just touched on it above, but this week is set for the 24th Annual Musicfest, happening July 19-21. There are so many events to take in on the two days and even the day before, that we hope everyone will find something to their liking. Our band Hard Times is happy to once again be part of the festivities, as we will be performing at the Langdon Eagles Club on the evening of July 19. We again hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend, and we that the weather will be beautiful. We also welcome everyone who is coming back to town in Langdon for all the action.
“See ya!” next week!
