As we get to the later part of July, things move to the postseason for American Legion Baseball.  The all new District 5 Tournament will be held in Hatton July 23-27.  The Langdon Red Sox have been piling up the league wins as of late, and as such are moving up the standings.  Langdon hoped to be in the upper portion of the tournament seedings, which were not yet released at the time of this writing.  Meanwhile the Northern League Babe Ruth Tournament is ongoing July 18-21 at American Legion Field in Langdon.  The Langdon Babe Ruth Eagles were trying to make their third straight trip to a state tournament, which will be held this year in Watford City on July 26.   If the Red Sox Post 98 would win the District 5 Tourney, they will advance to the State B American Legion Baseball Tournament going on in Hazen beginning July 31.  We wish both teams the best of luck in the postseason.

Langdon Country Club to host a portion of the International Tournament;  Senior Tour makes a stop July 22

The great golf conditions continue and so does tournament season at the Langdon Country Club.  It has been a banner year for the course up to this point, and more good times are on the way this week.  The 49th Annual International Golf Tournament, split between the courses of Langdon, Walhalla, Morden and Winkler will held July 26-28.  They are expecting just over 300 golfers to participate in the tourney this year.  We welcome all golfers to the area, and they enjoy their time here.

Meanwhile the North Valley Men’s Senior Tour will make their annual stop at the Langdon Country Club, and men 50 and over are welcome to participate.  Registration is at 9:00 a.m., with a tee time of 10.

And a reminder that the annual Glow-Ball Tournament is set at the course at dusk on the evening of Aug. 2.  It’s great to see so many activities going on so folks can take advantage of the beautiful links and playing conditions.

“See ya!” next week!
