The Langdon-Edmore-Munich Cardinals boys basketball team played their first game of 2020 on January 3 at home in Edmore versus Park River-Fordville-Lankin. The Cards forced 31 turnovers on the Aggies to win the game handily, 70-37. With the win the Cardinals are now 5-1 on the season and ranked sixth in the state in the latest Class B Boys Basketball Poll. After hosting Hatton-Northwood on January 10, Langdon-Edmore-Munich will also host two home games in the week ahead, Dakota Prairie on January 16 then Cavalier on the afternoon of January 18.

In their win over PRFL, the Cards did a great job on defense which helped get their offense going. Grant Romfo dropped in a 3-pointer on his way to nine first quarter points to help his team to a 19-11 lead after the first quarter. The Cardinals defense held the Aggies to just five shot attempts in the second quarter, as they expanded their lead to 35-19 at the half. Jackson Delvo had two 3's in the second frame.

The second half featured more of the same, with the Cards defense coming up with steal after steal. The Cards ended up with 21 thefts total, led by Simon Romfo with six and five from Delvo. Grant and Simon Romfo led the team with 16 points each with Delvo putting in 15. Overall the Cardinals held the Aggies to just 26 shot attempts for the game. Jayse Fontaine had 19 points to lead PRFL.
