Langdon Area Baseball has three teams qualify for State
The phenomenal year it’s been for Langdon Area Baseball just continues to get better and better. The 12U team qualified for the State B Tournament in Velva, and now the Langdon Eagles Babe Ruth and Langdon Red Sox American Legion teams have made it as well.
The Eagles won the District 3 title for a remarkable fifth straight year, coming back to beat Nelson County in a winners bracket game, then defeated Park River to win the District crown 6-2 on July 17. Langdon now plays in the State B Babe Ruth Baseball tournament July 24-28 in Bottineau, with the Eagles taking on Thompson in the opening round.
The Red Sox won the District 5 American Legion Baseball Tournament July 19-21, also in Grafton. Langdon for a change had luck on their side, as they came back to shock Park River 5-4, then hung on beat Grafton Post 41… The Sox now advance to the State B American Legion Baseball Tournament in Oakes July 29-Aug. 2 Oakes… Langon will play the second game of the day at 1:00 p.m., with their opponent to be determined. We will have full coverage of the Red Sox run in the District 5 Tournament here in the Republican next week.
How cool is that, three teams and three State Tournaments for the Langdon summer baseball program. We wish best of luck to all of them in their continued postseason.
